A swashbuckling comic farce starring Danny Kaye as Hawkins, a kindhearted entertainer who disguises himself as the court jester, Giacomo, to infiltrate the court of the evil King Roderick. But when a sorceress hypnotizes him, Hawkins believes he is also an infamous assassin, switching between his jester persona and deadly alter ego at the snap of a finger, and royal chaos ensues.
